2015 Land Rover Discovery Sport Review

The new Land Rover Discovery Sport garnered a 4 out of 5 stars in expert rating. The vehicle’s cabin space (including fold-down occasional seats for a seven-place layout) , quietness and punchy engine is what makes it  stand out.

“We don’t particularly want to compare this model to Freelander. But if you look at the standard features, it’s a very different vehicle,” says Matt Weisner, Sales and Operations Director of Jaguar Land Rover Australia.

“We feel this vehicle is incredibly competitive against the BMW X3 and Audi Q5. For that price, you get navigation, electric seats, 18-inch alloys, and rear-view camera, and grain-fed leather seats. It’s a pretty compelling package.”

The Discovery Sport is a compact SUV, very friendly with families, not a 4WD workhorse and as fashion forward as Evoque, but it’s elegant and refined just the same.

“We think it’s the most practical and versatile compact SUV. It can carry more passengers and luggage than anything in its class,” according to Murray Dietsch, the Head of the Discovery Sport Program for Land Rover.

It has just won 5 starts in the Euro NCAP testing and the extra space to boot! Very family friendly indeed and can still handle off-road as well. Not to mention the towing capacity of  2200 kilograms.

The Discovery Sport will go on sale in May, we have high expectations on how it will handle the Australian sun, dust and roads!
