Jaguar Land Rover Hits Best Ever February Sales Figures

Jaguar Land Rover posted soaring numbers for their February sales performance, which they declared as the best ever. 37,494 vehicles were sold by its Halewood car plant, up by 31% compared to the same month last year. The plant produces Range Rover Evoque and Land Rover Discover models. 83,510 vehicles were sold by the company in the first two months of 2016, 27% up on the same period in the prior year.

The year-on-year increase on February sales was seen across all regions. It’s 84% in the UK, 52% in Europe, 27% in North America, and 14% in China. An increase of 13% was seen for other overseas markets.

Andy Goss, Jaguar Land Rover group sales operations director, says ““We started the year with a record January and have followed this up with another historic month of sales, thanks in large part to the performance of the UK and European markets and continued customer demand for the XE and Discovery Sport.”

The best-selling vehicles for February are the following: Halewood-built Discovery Sport, selling 7,857 vehicles, the Range Rover Sport, selling 6,418 vehicles and the Range Rover, with sales of 4,328 in the month. For calendar year-to-date sales, it’s 23% up for Land Rover from the previous year, reaching 68,831 vehicles.
